Can this improve my graphics in SWAT3? My specs: WIN7 x64, i5 2500k (4 cores), Radeon 6950 2GB, 8GB RAM.

Thanks for letting me know. It should be fixed now. Please let me know if it works for you now. For some reason it was working fine for me as admin but if I logged out it didn't.

It can help with frame rate issues. When Swat 3 goes into 3D mode and starts a map open the console windows (with the ~ key) and then type STATS.

This will show you your frame rate but dgVoodoo may not be needed for your Windows 7 machine. dgVoodoo doubled my frame rate. Even with an I7 the game didn't run as fast on my Windows 10 machine as it should.

From my understanding dgVoodoo doesn't work as well on Radeon based videos cards as it does with Nvidia cards. You will have to test to see if you get an improvement.

Thank you for a very detailed answer. My framerate is ideal, I was curious if it can fix the undetailed textures I experience in the game, for instance, some walls.

Last Resort version 0.7 Changelog - January 12, 2017 (click to view/hide) - works perfect now

Here is my new video. I am interested in fixing the undetailed textures, for example, at some walls it is very noticable. Is there an easy solution?

Yes, many original wall textures are small textures that have been stretched and look bad by today's standards. Some can be improved simply by replacing them with say 512x512 textures.

One problem that also affects the appearance of textures in Swat 3 is the fact that the game runs in 16 bit colours only. In theory this gives 65,536 colours but I am not sure if that is really happening in Swat 3. All the original textures in game are actually 8bits. Yup the textures are only 256 colours like a crappy .GIF image on the internet.

Even when I replace the textures with lovely 24 bit images the game still is limited. A lovely 24 bit texture still looks bad with Swat 3's lighting engine.

I really wish we could figure out how to hack the game to get 24 or 32 bit colours but I imagine we would need the source code.
