Hey hey,

I posted on here a while ago as I stumbled across the site and loved seeing the old maps etc. However, at the time I couldn't figure out how to make the game work on my MacBook. Now with WINE this seems to work (thanks for the tutorial, SJ).

I'm struggling to get mods (including Last Resort) to work as WINE won't launch the Mod launcher or any of the Last Resort exe. Anyone got any ideas?

If anyone is still playing the game, let me know. I'd love to do a bit of co-op!

JiM

I'm currently in the middle of redownloading it for Windows 10. Hopefully it works. Been looking for the TS server to catch up with old friends. Maybe we can meet up and play a bit :)

dgVoodoo also does wonders to help you run the game on Windows 10!

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party...whatever :)

Did you solve your problem JiM? I've been running SWAT 3 in CrossOver for over a year and had exactly the same issue, but I finally worked it out. The problem is that Wine is missing the Visual Basic runtime DLLs you need to run the Mod launcher and Last Resort launcher. The way I found this out was to use CrossOver's "Run Command" menu option and enable debugging, which showed that the MSVBVM60.DLL file was missing when these applications start up. In CrossOver you can get this file by installing the Microsoft Visual Basic 6 Service Pack 6 runtime library.

I have to say, SWAT 3 is still addictive after all these years - yes it's looking a little dated now compared to everything else but it's still a lot of fun. Plus, the voice acting of the officers is superb - still probably the best I've heard in any game now or then.
